The VIII. Miami International GuitART Festival presents the world premiere of “Wynwood Walls” concerto for guitar and orchestra by award-winning composer Stephen Goss, commissioned by MIGF through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, performed by guitarist Mesut Özgen as soloist, and FIU Festival Orchestra, directed and conducted by Maestro Javier Jose Mendoza. The program also includes Federico Bonacossa performing his own compositions for solo guitar and works by Manuel de Falla and Joaquin Turina as well as a guitar duo by Mesut Özgen.

The 2023 festival presents 10 concerts, 6 masterclasses, 5 lectures, a luthiers expo, and composition competition from February 18-26, 2023. Featured artists include (Benjamin Verdery (Yale University)), Laura Verdugo del Rey (Spain), Rafael Padron (Cuba), Robert Trent (Radford University), Los Hermanos Calero (Colombia), and Edward Ramirez (Venezuala) among many others.
